Sripathi Sooriyarachchi (8 September 1962 – 9 February 2008) was aSri Lankan politician, member of parliament, lawyer and former wrestling champion.[1]
He was fired from his cabinet position after he accused Sri Lanka's presidentMahinda Rajapaksa of entering into an accord withLTTE.[2] He had alleged he faced death threats.[3] In March 2007, he was arrested on charges of misusing a government vehicle[4]He was associated with theSri Lanka Freedom Party Mahajana faction.[5]His parliamentary web page identified him as a member of parliament for the district ofGampaha, a member of theUnited People's Freedom Alliance, and aBuddhist.[6]
