Spring Creek Hatchery State Park is a public recreation area lying within theColumbia River Gorge National Scenic Area onRoute 14 inSkamania County,Washington. Thestate park occupies 10acres (4hectares) directly across theColumbia River fromHood River, Oregon. It offers excellentwindsurfing andkiteboarding opportunities, as well as picknicking, fishing, and wildlife viewing. The park lies next to the Spring Creek National Fish Hatchery, which offers interpretive programs and self-guided tours.[1][3]
The 5-acre (2-hectare) windsurfing area is sometimes known as "The Hatchery" or "The Hatch".[4][5] The rough water is considered expert-level.[4][6]
