Sportstar is an Indian monthlysports magazine published in India by the publishers ofThe Hindu. Its headquarters is inChennai.[1][non-primary source needed]
Sportstar was established in 1978.[2][3][non-primary source needed] The magazine covers international sports, including theFIFA World Cup,UEFA Euro and theOlympics. It coverssports in India, including coverage ofcricket, a widely popular sport in India. Additional coverage of sports includes football, tennis andFormula OneGrand Prix.
From the 28 January 2006 issue, the magazine changed its name fromThe Sportstar toSportstar and moved from magazine totabloid format. In 2012 the magazine was redesigned.[4][non-primary source needed] The new online avatar ofSportstar was launched on 26 October 2015 at the Madras Cricket Club.[5]
It has its own mobile app namedSportstar - Live Sports & News.[6][non-primary source needed]
