Sponsor is an upcoming Americanpsychological thriller film directed and co-written byJames Ponsoldt.
Following adrunk driving arrest, a man finds a sponsor for his recovery program.
It was announced in May 2025 thatJason Segel was set to star in the film, which he would co-write the screenplay with the film's directorJames Ponsoldt.[1] In October, the film was acquired byApple TV.[2] In December,John C. Reilly andAmy Madigan were added to the cast,[3][4] withJustine Lupe joining in January 2026.[5]
Production began on January 20, 2026, inLos Angeles. Filming will also occur inHalf Moon Bay.[6]Jonathan Sela served as the cinematographer.[7]
