TheSpike Island, part of thePassage Group within theFurneaux Group, is a close pair of unpopulatedgranite islands with a combined area of 6 hectares (15 acres), located inBass Strait, south ofCape Barren Island in Spike Bay just off the west coast ofClarke Island, inTasmania, in south-eastern Australia.[1][2]
Recorded breedingseabird andwader species includelittle penguin,Pacific gull,silver gull andsooty oystercatcher.[3]
