Spencer Rocco Lofranco (October 18, 1992 – November 18, 2025) was a Canadian actor. He made his film debut in the 2013 romantic comedyAt Middleton as Conrad Hartman, and portrayed the lead role of James Burns in the 2014 crime dramaJamesy Boy. He then co-starred as Harry Brooks in the biographical war dramaUnbroken (2014) and as Billy in the crime dramaDixieland (2015). He also had a supporting role as Mikey inKing Cobra (2016) and portrayedJohn A. Gotti inGotti (2018).
Spencer Rocco Lofranco was born inToronto,Ontario on October 18, 1992.[1] His parents were lawyer Rocco (Rocky) C. Lofranco[2] and Amy Lofranco, an opera singer.[3] His parents divorced when he was a child.[3] He had one older brother, Santino, and was raised inThornhill, Ontario. He attendedRobert Land Academy military school fromninth grade throughtwelfth grade, after struggling with the traditional school system.[2]
On June 19, 2012, Lofranco was cast as Conrad Hartman, a high school senior touring a college campus, in the independent romantic comedyAt Middleton.[4] He starred alongsideAndy García andVera Farmiga in the film, which premiered at theSeattle International Film Festival on May 17, 2013 and was released in alimited release and through onvideo on demand on January 31, 2014.[5]
He had his first starring role as troubled teenager James Burns, in Trevor White's biographical crime drama filmJamesy Boy.[6] The film also starredMary-Louise Parker,Ving Rhames, andTaissa Farmiga, and was released on January 3, 2014, throughvideo on demand before being released on January 17, 2014, in alimited release.[7]
In 2014, he co-starred inAngelina Jolie's war dramaUnbroken as Harry Brooks, oppositeJack O'Connell,Finn Wittrock, andDomhnall Gleeson.[8] The same year, he starred as Mark in the short thriller filmHome, written and directed by John Henry Hinkel.[9] In 2015, he co-starred in the crime filmDixieland, alongsideRiley Keough,Chris Zylka, andFaith Hill.[10] The film premiered at theTribeca Film Festival on April 19, 2015.[11] The film was distributed on December 11, 2015 in alimited release and throughvideo on demand byIFC Films.[12]
In 2016, Lofranco appeared as Mikey inKing Cobra, which boasted a star-studded cast that includedChristian Slater,Molly Ringwald andJames Franco.[1] In 2018, he appeared inGotti, where he portrayedJohn Travolta's onscreen son in a biographical movie about New York City-based mob bossJohn Gotti.[13] According toUSA Today, Lofranco's roles inKing Cobra andGotti were his "best known roles" and "signaled his Hollywood ascent."[1] However, these two films would be Lofranco's final films as well.[1]
On August 6, 2013, while driving hisSUV, Lofranco hit actress Camille Banham, who was riding her bike at the time.[14] Lofranco initially stopped his vehicle and apologized, but then returned to his vehicle and drove away without offering help, leaving Banham with a broken hip and other fractures. Lofranco was convicted ofmisdemeanorhit and run and sentenced to 50 days ofcommunity service.[14]
In his finalInstagram post on November 11, 2025, Lofranco said "the best is yet to come" and was encouraging people to "subscribe to [his]Only Fans."[13][15][1]
Lofranco died on November 18, 2025, at the age of 33, inBritish Columbia, Canada.[9] His death was announced by his brother Santino.[13][1]
