TheSouth Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA ) rewards the artistic and technical achievements of theSouth Indian film industry . It was launched in 2012 byVishnu Vardhan Induri and Brinda Prasad Adusimilli to appreciate and honour film makers from across theSouth Indian film industries:Telugu cinema ,Tamil cinema ,Malayalam cinema , andKannada cinema , and provide a platform to promote South Indian films in international markets.
The ceremony was instituted in 2012 byVishnu Vardhan Induri , the founder ofCelebrity Cricket League .[ 1] [ 2] [ 3]
The first SIIMA ceremony was held on 21–22 June 2012 at theDubai World Trade Centre inDubai , United Arab Emirates.[ 4] [ 5] Hyderabad , India owing to the travel restrictions due toCOVID-19 pandemic .[ 6]
SIIMA Short Film Awards were announced in 2017 to recognise makers and actors of short films.[ 7] twitter emoji was released on the platform.[ 8] Invenio Origin joined as the strategic partner in January 2024, with significant stake in SIIMA[ 9] [ 10]
