Division of the Chennai city

South Chennai encompasses the southern neighbourhoods ofChennai in India. Located roughly to the south of theAdyar River, these areas were incorporated into theGreater Chennai Corporation after the 1990s. The South Chennai zone, with its head office atGuindy division comprisesGuindy,Mylapore,Velachery,Alandur andSholinganallur taluks.[1]
