South Bontang (Indonesian:Bontang Selatan,Indonesian pronunciation:[ˈbɔntaŋsəˈlatan]) is a district of theBontang,East Kalimantan, Indonesia. As of 2024, it was inhabited by 71,167 people, and currently has a total area of 110.91 km2. Its district seat is located at the village of Tanjung Laut.[3]
The district was separated on 1 December 1989 from the former district of Bontang.[1] South Bontang shares borders with West Bontang andNorth Bontang to the north,Teluk Pandan to the west, andMarang Kayu to the south.
