Sotonera Lacus is one of a number ofhydrocarbon lakes found on Saturn's largest moon,Titan.[1]
Sotonera Lacus is located near the north pole of Titan, centered onlatitude 76.75°N andlongitude 17.49°W, and measures 63 km in length.[1][note 1] It is situated in a north polar region where the majority of Titan's large lakes are found.
The lake is composed ofliquidmethane andethane,[2] and was detected by thespace probeCassini. It was named in 2007 afterLake Sotonera inSpain.[1]
