Smita Jaykar (born 29 June 1964) is anIndian actress known for playing supporting roles inHindi movies and TV shows.[ 1] She is currently[when? ] working on a theatrical adaptation ofDevdas with Ashvin Gidwani Productions (AGP World).[ 2]
A native of theThakurdwar neighbourhood inSouth Mumbai , she is aMaharashtrian . Her husband, Mohan Jaykar,[ 3] is the son of esteemedMarathi barrister Barr Jaykar. She is known for her roles, most often as a mother, inMarathi-language television serials and films.[ 4]
Smita is a very spiritual person.[ 4] She conducts lectures on auras andchakras .[ 5]
