Siti Mastura binti Muhammad (born 27 August 1989) is aMalaysianpolitician who has served as theMember of Parliament (MP) forKepala Batas since November 2022. At the grassroots level, she is the deputy head of the Penang State PAS Muslimat Council.[1]
During her tenure as MP for Kepala Batas, she made allegations againstLim Guan Eng on his family ties with the first Singaporean Prime MinisterLee Kuan Yew and Malayan Communist Party leaderChin Peng.[2]
In November 2023, Siti Mastura made the claim in her 46-minute speech to PAS’ Muslimat and young women wing members from Kemaman PAS, ahead of the upcomingelection in Kemaman.
Aside from alleged family relations with Ong and Lee, Siti Mastura also claimed that Lim is related to other DAP leaders such as secretary-generalAnthony Loke,Nga Kor Ming,Ngeh Koo Ham, and Teresa Kok.
Lim Guan Eng, the DAP MP for Bagan criticised Siti Mastura's claim, stating: "This is not just a personal attack but has racial undertones as well. It is a spiteful allegation against my father (DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang) and me”.[3][4]
After both parties failed to reach an agreement at a court-orderedmediation, the case is set for trial in September 2024. Mastura has maintained that her allegations are true, citing statements from aBarisan Nasional election pamphlet as evidence. However, she has not addressed criticism over her mispronunciation of Lee Kuan Yew's surname as "Lim" instead of "Lee," an error widely mocked as an attempt to associate thelateSingaporean prime minister with the unrelated Lim political family.[5]
