Sir Arthur Stewart Leslie Young, 1st Baronet (10 October 1889 – 14 August 1950) was aScottish Unionist Party politician.
Educated atFettes College and abroad, he served during theFirst World War in theScottish Rifles, reaching the rank ofmajor.
He sat as themember of parliament (MP) forGlasgow Partick (UK Parliament constituency) from 1935 to 1950,[1] and then sat forGlasgow Scotstoun (UK Parliament constituency) until his death.[2]
He was Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Under-Secretary of State for Scotland from 1937 and Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Scotland from 1939. In 1941, he was appointed Scottish Unionist Whip. He was aLord Commissioner of the Treasury from 1942 to 1944, andVice-Chamberlain of HM Household from 1944 to 1945.
He was created abaronet on 7 September 1945.[3][4]
