Sipili Falatea (born 6 June 1997) is a French professionalrugby union player who plays as aprop forTop 14 clubBordeaux Bègles and theFrance national team.[1] Born on the island ofFutuna, he joined mainland France in 2015 and began his professional career withClermont in 2017.
Originally fromFutuna, Sipili Falatea was born into a rugby household with his brother Tapu Falatea and his nephewYoram Moefana being professional rugby players.[2][3] He arrived inMetropolitan France in 2015 thanks to his brother, joiningColomiers academy.[4]
Sipili Falatea was recruited byTop 14 clubClermont in the summer of 2017.[4] In July 2022, he joinedBordeaux Bègles from the2022-23 Top 14 season until 2024.[5]
Falatea was called byFabien Galthié to theFrench national team for the first time in June 2021, for thesummer tour of Australia.[6]
