Siphonops is a genus ofcaecilians in the familySiphonopidae, found inSouth America. All species are known to occur withinBrazil, however, onlyS. hardyi andS. leucoderus areendemic to it. The native ranges of the other two known species,S. annulatus andS. paulensis, extend outwards into the surrounding countries ofArgentina,Bolivia, andParaguay.S. annulatus's range extends even further, stretching intoColombia,Ecuador,French Guiana,Guyana,Peru,Suriname, andVenezuela, and giving it perhaps the most widespread distribution of any single caecilian species.
