Snorsio Alston "Sio"Moore (born 2 May 1990) is aLiberian former professional player ofAmerican football who was alinebacker in theNational Football League (NFL). He playedcollege football for theUConn Huskies. Moore was selected by theOakland Raiders in the third round of the2013 NFL draft. He was also a member of theIndianapolis Colts,Kansas City Chiefs,Arizona Cardinals, andHouston Texans.

Early life

Moore was born inLiberia inWest Africa, and moved to theWest Haven, Connecticut when he was a child.[1] He attendedApex High School inApex, North Carolina, where he was a letterman infootball andtrack. He playedfootball as alinebacker,running back andfullback. He earned All-area and All-Tri Seven Football League honors as a fullback and linebacker as a senior.

Prior to signing withConnecticut, Moore made a visit to their summer camp inStorrs, Connecticut, where he was timed at 4.54 in the40-yard dash, 4.41 in theshort shuttle, had a 38.5-inch (99 cm)vertical jump,broad jumped 10-foot-2 (3.13 m) and ran the100-meter dash in 11.1 seconds.[2]

Regarded only as a two-star prospect grade by bothRivals.com andScout.com, Moore was ranked No. 50 among the nation’s weak-side linebackers. He signed his national letter of intent to attend Connecticut on 12 July 2007.[3]

College career

While attending theUniversity of Connecticut, he played for theConnecticut Huskies football team from 2008 to 2012. During his college career, he totaled 274 tackles, 16quarterback sacks and fourinterceptions. Following his senior season in 2012, he was a first-team All-Big East Conference selection and was invited to play in both theEast-West Shrine Game and theSenior Bowl.[4]

Oakland Raiders

Moore was selected by theOakland Raiders in the third round, with the 66th overall pick, of the2013 NFL draft.[6] On 27 October 2013, Moore picked up 2 sacks and 5 tackles in a 21-18 win against thePittsburgh Steelers. He was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team.[7]

Indianapolis Colts

On 4 September 2015, Moore was traded to theIndianapolis Colts for a sixth round pick (Cory James) in the2016 NFL draft.[8] He was released by the Colts on 4 October 2016.[9]

Kansas City Chiefs

Moore was signed by theKansas City Chiefs on 7 October 2016.[10] On 1 November 2016, he was released by the Chiefs.[11]

Arizona Cardinals

On 22 November 2016, Moore was signed by theArizona Cardinals.[12]

Houston Texans

On 3 June 2017, Moore signed with theHouston Texans.[13] On 1 September 2017, he was released by the Texans.[14]
