Simon de Melun (1250 – 11 July 1302 inKortrijk) was aMarshal of France killed in theBattle of the Golden Spurs.

He was a younger son of Viscount Adam II ofMelun and Constance ofSancerre. From his mother, he inherited the castles ofLa Loupe and Marcheville.

In 1270, he followed KingLouis IX of France in hisEighth Crusade to Tunisia. Under KingPhilip III of France he served asSeneschal of thePérigord,Quercy,Limousin andCarcassonne. In 1282 he participated in theAragonese Crusade asMaster of Crossbowmen (maître des arbalétriers). KingPhilip IV of France made himMarshal of France in 1290. In 1302 Simon went to war againstFlanders, but was killed in theBattle of the Golden Spurs, together with most other French commanders.
