The book follows Jim Hawkins, son of the character of thesame name inRobert Louis Stevenson's 1883 novelTreasure Island, as he and Natty, daughter ofLong John Silver, also a character inTreasure Island, return to the island visited by their fathers to claim abandonedbar silver.[1]
