Siget (Serbian Cyrillic: Сигет) is a village located in theNovi Kneževac municipality, in theNorth Banat District ofSerbia. It is situated in the Autonomous Province ofVojvodina. The village has aSerb ethnic majority (73.27%) with a significantHungarian minority (25.50%) and its population numbering 247 people (2002 census).
InSerbian the settlement is known asSiget (Сигет), and inHungarian asSziget. Former Serbian name for this settlement wasMali Siget (Мали Сигет).Mali Siget means "little Siget", while nameVeliki Siget (Велики Сигет, meaning: "big Siget") was used for neighbouring uninhabited area.
