Siddipet district is adistrict in theIndian state ofTelangana.[3] Its headquarters isSiddipet. This district contains a part of theHyderabad Metropolitan Region (Markook MuluguWargal) The district shares boundaries withJangaon,Sircilla,Karimnagar,Kamareddy,Hanamkonda,Yadadri,Medhchal andMedak districts.

Geography

This district is bounded byRajanna Sircilla district in the north,Karimnagar district in the northeast,Jangaon district in the east,Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district in the south,Medchal district in the southwest,Medak district in the west andKamareddy district in the northwest.

At the time of the 2011 census, Siddipet district has a population of 1,012,065. Siddipet has a sex ratio of 1008 females per 1000 males and a literacy rate of 61.61%. 103,852 (10.26%) were under 6 years of age. 139,052 (13.74%) lived in urban areas. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes made up 187,508 (18.53%) and 25,010 (2.47%) of the population respectively.[5]

The collector of Siddipet[7] district is Prasanth Jeevan Patil, appointed on 16 November 2021, succeeding P. Venkatrami Reddy, who submitted his resignation to join politics.
