Sibone (Burmese:စည်းပုံ,Burmese pronunciation:[síbòʊɴ]) is a ceremonialheaddress worn by Burmese women. In the pre-colonial era, thesibone was worn exclusively asroyal attire by high-ranking females at the Burmese court, including the queens and princesses. Thesibone, along with themahālatā, formed theceremonial dress for Burmesestate functions. In modern-day Myanmar, thesibone is worn by girls during theear piercing ceremony, and byBurmese dancers.
