Hsi htamin (Burmese:ဆီထမင်း,pronounced[sʰìtʰəmɪ́ɴ],lit.'oiled rice'; also speltsi htamin) is a traditional Burmese snack ormont, popularly served as abreakfast dish, often served alongsidepeas ordried fish.[1]

The dish consists ofglutinous rice cooked withturmeric,salt, andonions, and served with roasted sesame seeds and fried onions, which renders a golden hue to the rice.[2]
