Shozo Makino (牧野 正蔵,Makino Shōzō; May 15, 1915 – February 12, 1987) was aJapanese Olympic swimmer. He won a silver medal for theMen's 1500 meter freestyle event in the1932 Summer Olympics inLos Angeles, and a bronze medal for theMen's 400 meter freestyle event in the1936 Summer Olympics inBerlin.[1]
Makino was born inShizuoka Prefecture,Japan, and was a graduate ofWaseda University. On August 30, 1931, while still a middle school student, he set a new world record for the Men's 800-meter freestyle with a time of 10 minutes 16.6 seconds.
