"Shout It Out" is a song by British-Australian recording artistReece Mastin, taken from his second studio album,Beautiful Nightmare (2012). It was releaseddigitally on 29 June 2012, as the second single from the album. The song was written by Mastin and production duoDNA, who also produced it. "Shout It Out" peaked at number one in Australia and number eight in New Zealand. It was certified platinum by theAustralian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), denoting sales of 70,000 copies. The accompanyingmusic video features a cameo appearance byHome and Away actressRhiannon Fish, who plays Mastin's love interest.

Background and reception

"Shout It Out" was written byReece Mastin with Anthony Egizii and David Musumeci of the production duoDNA, who also produced the song.[1] It was releaseddigitally on 29 June 2012, andphysically on 3 August 2012.[2][3] In Australia, the song debuted on theARIA Singles Chart at number one on 9 July 2012, with first-week sales of 23,400 copies.[4][5] It became Mastin's second number-one single on that chart, following his debut single "Good Night" (2011).[4]

"Shout It Out" became the 97th song to debut atop the ARIA Singles Chart, and the 427th number-one single in the chart's history.[6] The song was certified platinum by theAustralian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), denoting sales of 70,000 copies.[7] Mastin became the first Australian artist to achieve two number one singles during the 2010s decade.[6] That same week, "Shout It Out" debuted and peaked at number eight on theNew Zealand Singles Chart.[8]

The accompanyingmusic video for "Shout It Out" premiered onVevo on 1 July 2012.[9] It features a cameo appearance byHome and Away actressRhiannon Fish, who plays Mastin's love interest.[10] The video sees the pair playing a couple on a road trip through theAtherton Tableland,[11][12] going camping, swimming under a waterfall, and ending at a lookout view ofSydney.[10] A writer forThe Hot Hits called it "The hottest video of the year".[10]
