TheSheikdom of Upper Asir was anArab state which was established in August 1916,[1] after it broke away from theIdrisid Emirate of Asir,[2] possibly withHejazi aid.[3] It was led byHasan bin Ali al-Aidh.[1] In 1920, Upper Asir faced revolts from theIkhwan and his reign was threatened.[3] In April to May 1920,Ibn Saud of theEmirate of Nejd intervened in support of the Ikhwan and defeated Ibn Aidh.[3] Upper Asir was then partitioned between the Saudi and the Idrisi on 30 August 1920.[3]
