Shebeli Tower is a historical tower inDamavand, a city situated in theTehran province ofIran.
Standing approximately 10 metres (33 ft) tall, the structure is a roofed octagonal monument apparently dedicated toAbu Bakr al-Shibli, a Sufi mystic and governor of Damavand.[1] Asirdāb (basement) also exists under the structure.[2]
The structure is a remnant of theSamanid era, dating it to the 12th century at the latest. Shebeli Tower is similar in design to extant structures inBukhara.[3]
The structure recently underwent some preservations.[when?]
