Shaun Malcolm Cole (born 19 November 1963) is a Britishcosmologist.
Cole grew up inChipping, Lancashire.[1] He graduated fromJesus College, Oxford with afirst-class degree in Physics in 1985, and subsequently completedPart III of the Mathematical Tripos at theUniversity of Cambridge. His performance in Part III was strong enough to earn a studentship for a PhD at theCambridge Institute of Astronomy.[1]
Cole has been Professor of Physics atDurham University since 2005 and was the director of theInstitute for Computational Cosmology (2020-2025).[2][3][4] He was joint-winner of the 2014Shaw Prize withDaniel Eisenstein andJohn A. Peacock.[5]
