Shaukat Mahmood Mufti (Urdu:شوکت محمود مفتی; born 10 January 1955) is a Pakistani formerfootballer. The versatile footballer played as aleft-back,left midfielder andleft-winger. Mufti is among the major players of thePakistan national football team in the 1980s,[2][3][4] and served ascaptain of the national side in 1986.
Mufti represented theNational Bank departmental team at theNational Football Championship.[5]

In 1981, Mufti was selected for thePakistan national team for a goodwill tour toBurma, and later participated in the1981 King's Cup held inThailand as afullback. The next year he participated at the1982 Quaid-e-Azam International Tournament held inKarachi with thePakistan national team, where he featured in all 6 matches as starter.[6]
He later transitioned to a more offensive role during the1985 South Asian Games, scoring a goal againstMaldives.
In 1986, he served as captain of the national side at the1986 Fajr International Tournament held inTehran, where the team faced thePoland youth team,Al-Fotuwa, and theIran national team.[7][8][1][9] He also served as captain of1986 Pakistan President's Gold Cup campaign the same year, where the national side also facedBangladesh.[10][11][12]
