Theshark mackerel (Grammatorcynus bicarinatus) is a species ofSpanish mackerel (tribeScomberomorini) in the scombrid family (Scombridae).[2] Their maximum reported length is 112 cm (44 in), and the maximum reported weight is 13.5 kg (30 lb).[3]
This species is sometimes also called thelargescaled tunny,large-scaled tunny orsalmon mackerel.[2] Before 1983, this species was sometimes confused withGrammatorcynus bilineatus, thedouble-lined mackerel.[1]
