Sharan was aSanskrit poet of the 12th century AD fromBengal. He was among five gems at the court ofLakshmana Sena.[1]
Jayadeva described Sharan among his contemporaries and praised his poetry.[2] No major work of Sharan was discovered.
Sharan was mentioned inSaduktikarnamrta of Shridhar Das who was a governor underLakshmana Sena and in the padavali of Rupa Goswami.[2] It is believed that, Sharan's another names were Sharan Datta and Chirantana Sharan. It is also believed that he wroteDurghatavrtti.[2]
