Shab deg orshab daig (Kashmiri pronunciation:[ʃabd̪eːɡ]) is slow-cookedturnip andmuttonstew, traditionally left to simmer overnight. "Shab" means 'night' and "daig" means 'cooking pot' in thePersian language. The dish has been described asMughlai[1] origin from theKashmir Valley.[2]
