Sergio Ortuño Díaz (born 2 March 1999), sometimes known asOrtu, is a Spanish professionalfootballer who plays as amidfielder forCádiz CF.
Born inElda,Alicante,Valencian Community, Ortuño finished his formation withDeportivo de La Coruña, after representingHércules CF andCD Eldense. He made his senior debut with the former'sreserves on 15 October 2017, coming on as a second-halfsubstitute in a 3–0Segunda División B home win overCF Talavera de la Reina.
Ortuño was promoted tofarm teamLaracha CF inTercera División ahead of the2018–19 season,[1] but was loaned back to former club Eldense on 21 December 2018.[2] On 30 July 2019, he returned to Hércules and was assigned tothe B-team also in the fourth division.[3]
On 1 October 2020, Ortuño returned to Eldense on a permanent deal.[4] On 25 January 2022, he agreed to a 18-month deal withReal Valladolid'sreserves inPrimera División RFEF,[5] but returned to Eldense on loan on 14 July 2022.[6]
Ortuño was an undisputed starter for theAzulgranas duringthe campaign, contributing with three goals in 44 appearances overall as the club returned toSegunda División after a 59-year absence.[7] He signed a permanent contract with the club on 8 July 2023,[8] and made his professional debut on 13 August, starting in a 1–0 away win overFC Cartagena.[9]
Ortuño scored his first professional goal on 12 November 2023, netting Eldense's second in a 3–1 away win overFC Andorra. On 5 June 2025, aftersuffering relegation, he left the club,[10] and signed a three-year deal withCádiz CF eight days later.[11]
