TheSerbian Left (Serbian:Српска левица,romanized: Srpska levica, abbr.SL) is apolitical party inSerbia. It was established in January 2022, as a direct successor of theCommunist Party.
The Serbian Left (SL) was formed in January 2022.[1] It planned to contest the2022 Serbian parliamentary election, but it ultimately did not.[1] According to Milojičić, the party is in opposition to theAleksandar Vučić andSerbian Progressive Party (SNS)-led government, although Broz still served in theSocialist Party of Serbia parliamentary group after SL was formed.[2][3] For the2023 Serbian parliamentary election, SL participated on the SNS electoral list[4] and gained one seat in theNational Assembly.
In June 2024, Milojičić resigned as the party president and joined SNS.[5]
Its leader until 2024 wasRadoslav Milojičić, formerDemocratic Party member of the National Assembly,[1][6] while its honorary president isJoška Broz, former leader of the Communist Party.[7]
