Semiz Ali Pasha (Ottoman Turkish:سيمز علي پاشا,Serbo-Croatian:Semiz Ali-Paša) was anOttoman Bosnianstatesman from theSanjak of Bosnia who served asGrand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire from 1561 to 1565. He was thebeylerbey (governor) ofEgypt Eyalet from 1549 to 1553.[1][2][3] Semiz Ali Pasha was born inPrača inBosnia (thus his secondary epithet), and replacedRüstem Pasha as a Grand Vizier.[4] After palace schooling, he discharged high-level functions along theOttoman Empire.[4] His epithet "Semiz" means "fat" inTurkish.

In 1561 he negotiated with the ambassador of theHoly Roman Empire,Ogier de Busbecq, on the terms of a peace treaty which was ratified inVienna in the following year.[5]
