Sekai (Japanese: 世界 "World") is a Japanese monthlypolitical magazine published byIwanami Shoten, which was founded in December 1945.[1][2] The first issue was published in 1946.[3] The magazine is published monthly.[4][5] It has aleft-wing orprogressive political stance.[4] The magazine's founding principles were "peace and social justice, freedom and equality, and harmony and solidarity with the peoples of East Asia."[4] The headquarters is in Tokyo.[6] Yamaguchi Akio served as an editor of the magazine for a long period.[4]
