Leon Seilala Lam (born 18 February 1989) is a professionalrugby union player who plays as ahooker forTop 14 clubPerpignan. Born in New Zealand, he representsSamoa at international level after qualifying onancestry grounds.[1]
Seilala was born inNew Zealand, but was raised inAustralia.[2]
He began his professional career in 2010, where he played withRandwick inThe Shute Shield. He played the following season with Eastern Suburbs RUFC inThe Shute Shield, During his time there he trained with theWaratahs where Head Coach at the timeMichael Cheika suggested for him to change from anopenside flanker intohooker before the 2014National Rugby Championship season for theCanberra Vikings.[3]
In 2015 Lam joinedUSO Nevers inFrance, playing 23 games for the club over 18 months before joiningUSA Perpignan in 2017.[4]
Seilala Lam was first selected forSamoa in 2016, Later being named inSamoa's final 31 Man squad for the2019 Rugby World Cup.[5]
