Segamat is a federal constituency inSegamat District ,Johor ,Malaysia , that has been represented in theDewan Rakyat since 1955 to 1959 and 1974 to present.
The federal constituency was created in the 1955 redistribution and is mandated to return a single member to the Dewan Rakyat under the first past the post voting system.

Representation history [ edit ] From 1982 to 2018, the Member of Parliament for Segamat was always someone named "Subramaniam" fromMIC , but they were three different individuals.[ 8] From 1982 to 1990 and again from 1995 to 2004, the MP wasSubramaniam Sinniah (commonly known as S. Subramaniam).[ 9] Between 1990 and 1995, the seat was held by S.S. Subramaniam (commonly known as SS).[ 10] From 2004 to 2018, the seat was represented bySubramaniam Sathasivam .
