Sebastian from The Little Mermaid (credited asDisney's Sebastian)[2] is the first of three original albums inspired by Disney'sThe Little Mermaid film. Many of the songs arecover versions of classiccalypso andreggae songs. All of the songs are performed bySamuel E. Wright asSebastian the crab[3] with the exception of "Dancing Mood" and "Dance the Day Away", performed byJodi Benson asAriel, who also joins Sebastian on "Day-O". Jason Marin plays the speaking role ofFlounder in the beginning and end of some tracks. The album was recorded in Jamaica and the reggae groupThird World performs rhythm tracks and background vocals.
