Maseese (Se'e) David Solomona[2] (born 9 March 1965) is a New Zealand former professionalrugby league footballer who represented bothNew Zealand andWestern Samoa.[1]

Solomona was born inNew Zealand.

Playing career

Solomona started his career with theRichmond Bulldogs, and theGlenora Bears, playing 21 games forAuckland between 1988 and 1993.[3] Solomona spent 1989 with theCanterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs as part of theNew Zealand Rugby League's "Rookie Scheme".[4]

Solomona played the majority of his career in England. He played forOldham from 1992 to 1994.[5] before returning home to play for theAuckland Warriors in their début season in theAustralian Rugby League competition. He spent 1996 with theNorth Queensland Cowboys, and still resides in Australia.[6]

Representative career

Solomona represented the Kiwi Colts in 1991.

His four tests for theNew Zealand national rugby league team came in 1993. He also representedWestern Samoa at the1990 Pacific Cup, and in the1995 World Cup.

Personal life

Se'e Solomona is the father of the rugby league footballer who has played for theNorth Queensland club and has represented the Queensland Under-19s as acentre in 2003, and the Queensland Country side in 2007;Wallace Solomona,[7] and he is the uncle ofMalo Solomona.[8]
