Screen Rant is an entertainment website that offers news in the fields oftelevision,films,video games, andcomic books. It is owned byValnet, parent of publications includingComic Book Resources, Collider, MovieWeb and XDA Developers.

History

Screen Rant was launched by Vic Holtreman in 2003,[2][3] and had its office inSaint-Laurent, Quebec,Canada.Screen Rant has expanded its coverage withred-carpet events in Los Angeles,New York film festivals andSan Diego Comic-Con panels.[4][5]

In February 2015,Screen Rant was acquired byValnet, an online media company based inMontreal,Quebec.[6][7][8] It was reunited with its sister site,Game Rant, in 2019, when Valnet acquired the other publication.[9] After agreeing to sell Screen Rant to Valnet, founder Vic Holtreman, who had served as the company's CEO,[10] retired to a quiet life.[11][unreliable source?]

Screen Rant features a video series calledPitch Meeting by YouTube comedian Ryan George. By September 2020, the series included over 200 videos, garnering a combined 250 million views. In the series, George playsboth ascreenwriter and afilm producer in apitch for a film or television series, describing its plot in a way that highlights various inconsistencies.[12] In 2024, Ben Kendrick, former publisher ofScreen Rant, was hired to runComicBook.com.[13]
