Scott Braun is the executive producer and host ofFoul Territory. He was previously a studio host and reporter forMLB Network andNHL Network.[1][2]

Early life and education

Braun was raised inWarren Township, New Jersey and graduated fromWatchung Hills Regional High School in 2007.[3]

Braun graduated from theUniversity of Miami with a double major in broadcast journalism and sports administration.[4]

Career

As a college student, Braun appeared onESPNU as a Campus Connection reporter and hosted multiple shows for University of Miami TV, which led to play-by-play college basketball work and online hosting for ESPN.com.[5][6]

Braun served as a college basketball play-by-play announcer forESPN and the host ofESPN.com's Heat Index, covering theMiami Heat prior to joining theMLB Network in 2012 andNHL Network in 2015.[5] In addition to his work for ESPN, Braun reported feature stories around the country forCBS Sports Network and was a studio host onCBSSports.com, includingFantasy Football Today.[5]

Braun was the play-by-play voice for theChatham Anglers of theCape Cod Baseball League in 2009 and 2010 and served as the Cape League Insider onSirius XMMLB Network Radio.[5][7]

On MLB Network, Braun appears on shows including the Emmy Award-winningMLB Tonight,MLB Now,The Rundown,High Heat,Quick Pitch andPlays of the Week.[8] On NHL Network, he appears onNHL Tonight,NHL Now andOn The Fly.[4] In addition to his studio work, Braun is a play-by-play announcer for MLB Network and MLB.com game telecasts including theWorld Baseball Classic[9] and JUCO World Series.[10] In 2018, Braun was the primary play-by-play man for MLB's liveFacebook games.[11]

Braun also serves as an occasional play-by-play broadcaster forPac-12 Network andSNY, includingNew York Mets games, and a host on sports talk radio shows onSiriusXM.[12]

Braun served as play-by-play for the world feed for the2021 World Series produced byMLB International, airing in over 200 countries around the world, as well as on theAmerican Forces Network. He worked alongsideDan Plesac, who provided color commentary. In 2022, Braun served as the main play-by-play announcer for the weeklyMLB Game of the Week Live on YouTube.

In 2023, it was announced that Braun would no longer be working for the MLB Network or the NHL Network.[13] He announced a role as the Executive Producer and Host for Foul Territory.
