Schopfheim (German pronunciation:[ˈʃɔpfhaɪm]ⓘ) is a town in thedistrict of Lörrach inBaden-Württemberg,Germany. It is situated on the riverWiese, 10 km north ofRheinfelden, and 13 km east ofLörrach.
The town is the birthplace ofGisela Oeri,Max Picard, andArno Villringer.
TheWiese Valley Railway runs through the town and serves four stations:Schopfheim West,Schopfheim,Schopfheim-Schlattholz, andFahrnau. The nearest airport isEuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg, located 30 km (19 mi) south west of the town.Zurich Airport can also be reached, it is located 79 km (49 mi) which is an hour drive south east of Schopfheim.
