TheSavoia-Marchetti S.74 was a four-engineairliner developed bySavoia-Marchetti forAla Littoria.
Theprototype first flew on 16 November 1934. Only three were ever built.[1]
The aircraft were used in passenger service. On 22 December 1937, one broke the speed record over 1,000 kilometres (620 mi), at 322.089 km/h (200.137 mph).[2] WhenItaly enteredWorld War II in 1940, they were put into service asmilitary transport aircraft for theRegia Aeronautica. None of the three survived the war.
