Saurania (Ancient Greek:Σαυρανία), orSauronisena,[1] orSaunaria (Σαυναρία),[2] was a town ofancient Pontus, inhabited duringRoman andByzantine times.[3] It was in the later province ofPontus Polemoniacus, and mentioned byPtolemy.[2]
Its site is tentatively located nearGölköy inAsiatic Turkey.[3][4]
