Satya Krishnan is an Indian actress who predominantly appears inTelugu films. She was born in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. She worked as a hotel management professional and entered the film industry with the filmDollar Dreams. Mostly starring in supporting roles, she is probably best known for her performance as Anitha in the 2004Sekhar Kammula-directed Telugu filmAnand.

Career

Satya Krishnan is fromHyderabad where she completed her education.[1] She did a course in Hotel Management and worked atTaj group of hotels in her home town.[1] She wanted to be an air hostess.[2]

She entered the film industry in 2000 with the filmDollar Dreams directed bySekhar Kammula. Later she got married and took up a job atBNP Paribas Bank inPunjagutta. After four years, Sekhar Kammula again approached her with a role in his filmAnand.[1] She quit her job and began working full-time as an actress.[3] She said that her character inAnand is very close to her real life character.[1] She won aNandi Award for her role in the film.[4]

She has also been seen in other movies including the superhitBommarillu,Premante Inte, Venkat Kuchipudi'sModati Cinema,Ullasamga Utsahamga andVinayakudu. She played a lead role for the first time in her career inMental Krishna[3][5] but the film was not well received.[2][6] In its review for the filmLovely,The Hindu wrote: "Satya Krishna ... gets some of the best lines in the film and we wish her role was better etched out. She runs the risk of being typecast in firebrand kind of roles though".[7]

In 2020, she appeared in the sitcom web seriesAmrutham Dhvitheeyam, which is the third installment in theAmrutham franchise.
