Sasaki and Peeps (佐々木とピーちゃん,Sasaki to Pii-chan) is a Japaneselight novel series written by Buncololi and illustrated byKantoku. The series originally began serialization as a web novel on the novel posting websites Kakuyomu andShōsetsuka ni Narō in December 2018, before beginning publication underMedia Factory'sMF Bunko J imprint in January 2021; eight volumes have been released as of January 2024. Amanga adaptation illustrated by Pureji Osho began serialization inKadokawa Shoten'sShōnen Ace Plus online magazine in January 2021, and has been compiled in fourtankōbon volumes as of July 2024. Both the light novel and manga are licensed in English byYen Press. Ananime television series adaptation produced bySilver Link aired from January to March 2024. A second season is set to premiere in 2026.
Sasaki is a middle-aged salaryman going through his mundane days, one after another. After seeing a coworker's cat pics, he is inspired to adopt a pet, hoping to give his empty days some spark of joy. While perusing the varied animals wanting a home, he comes across a small bird with a star on its chest. Feeling a connection, he takes his new friend home only to discover the tiny bird to be Piercarlo, the reincarnated Star Sage from a parallel world. Upon further discussion, Sasaki gives Piercarlo the name Peeps and they form a pact agreeing to live and work together. Their adventures begin as they explore both worlds, with Sasaki attempting to master the magic Peeps bestowed upon him. Soon enough, events get more intense as, in the modern world, Sasaki becomes involved with an organization of psychics (modern-day magic users) trying to protect civilians from a wild faction of "Irregulars", while in the parallel world, a war threatens to overtake the country he has become fond of. One thing leads to another, and Sasaki finds his once simple life becoming crazier and crazier with every passing day.

Ananime television series adaptation was announced during the "Natsu no Gakuensai 2022" event for MF Bunko J on July 24, 2022.[3] It is produced bySilver Link and directed by Mirai Minato, with scripts written byDeko Akao, and character designs handled by Saori Nakashiki.[10] The series aired from January 5 to March 22, 2024, onAT-X and other networks.[6] The opening theme song is "Fly", performed by Madkid, while the ending theme song is "Aimai Girl" (曖昧ガール;"Ambiguous Girl"), performed byAguri Ōnishi.[5]Crunchyroll streamed the series.[43][44]Muse Communication licensed the series in South and Southeast Asia.[45][44]
A second season was announced at theAnimeJapan 2024 event on March 24, 2024.[46] The staff and cast members from the first season are reprising their roles. The season is set to premiere in 2026.[47]
