Sarah Vollath (néeEichberg; born 26 December 1995) is a German politician fromDie Linke. She was elected amember of the German Bundestag since the2025 German federal election.
Vollath studiedsocial work at theCatholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt and, until taking up her Bundestag mandate, was head of anopen all-day school [de] in the Upper Bavarian district town ofEichstätt.
Sarah Vollath is married and lives in theEichstätt district.
Vollath has been a member of the Left Party since 2018. She was theequal opportunities officer [de] for theBavarian Left Party [de].[1] In 2024, she was elected to the executive board of the Bavarian Left Party. As third-place finisher on the Bavarian Left Party'sstate list, she was one of the 230 newly elected members of the21st German Bundestag following the2025 German federal election. She also ran as her party's direct candidate in theIngolstadtconstituency and received four percent of thefirst votes.[2]
Her political priorities arewomen's,family, andeducation policy.[3] She advocates for nationwide funding forwomen's shelters, basic child benefits, and aBAföG rate that is independent of parenthood and age. She also advocates for affordable housing and calls for a rent cap and the expropriation of property owners with a very large number of properties. Vollath opposes tightening ofasylum laws and instead calls for betterintegration of migrant children through better funding for municipalities and schools. She also supports fairer tax policies and a fairerdistribution of wealth.[4]
In addition to her membership in the Left Party, Vollath is also a member of theEducation and Science Union and theJohanniter-Unfall-Hilfe.
