Santo Antônio das Missões (Portuguese meaning "Saint Anthony of themissions") is amunicipality in the western part of the state ofRio Grande do Sul,Brazil. The population is 10,050 (2020 est.) in an area of 1710.87 km2.[2] Distance from the state capital ofPorto Alegre is 534 km west and tens of kilometres east from theArgentine border but the municipality does not border since it is close.
The municipality would be partially flooded by the proposedGarabí Dam.[3]
