Samyuktha Varma (born 28 November 1979) is a former Indian actress who was active inMalayalam films from 1999 to 2002.[1] She made her debut in 1999 as female lead in the movieVeendum Chila Veettukaryangal for which she won her firstKerala State Film Award for Best Actress, since then she has acted in a total of 18 films. Varma has won twoKerala State Film Awards for Best Actress and twoFilmfare Award for Best Actress. She is married to Malayalam actorBiju Menon since 2002.[2]
She was born on 28 November 1979[3] to Ravi Varma and Uma Varma. When she was studying atSree Kerala Varma college,Thrissur, she got an offer to do female lead role inVeendum Chila Veettukaryangal.[4]
Her debut was inVeendum Chila Veettukaryangal in 1999,[5] followed byVazhunnor andChandranudikkunna Dikkil in 2000.[6][7]
In 2000 she acted inNadanpennum Naattupramaaniyum directed byRajasenan,Fazil's productionLife is Beautiful,Angene Oru Avadhikkalathu directed by Mohan,Mazha directed byLenin Rajendran based on a short story byMadhavikutty followed byMadhuranombarakaattu andSwayamvara Panthal.
At the end of 2002, she was cast in Rafi-Mecartin'sThenkasi Pattanam and Rajasenan'sMegasandesam.
She was also approached to play the female lead inBaba oppositeRajinikanth, but she declined as she did not wish to work post marriage.[8]
She marriedBiju Menon on 23 November 2002.[9] The couple have a son, Daksh Dharmik, born 14 September 2006.[10]
