TheSamsung Galaxy A56 5G (sold in South Korea as theGalaxy Quantum6) is a mid-rangeAndroid-based smartphone in theGalaxy A series, introduced bySamsung Electronics on March 2, 2025,[1][2] alongside theGalaxy A36 5G. It is the successor to theGalaxy A55 5G, and it brings a range of upgrades in terms of design, performance, and camera capabilities.
The Galaxy A56 5G has an aluminum frame withCorning Gorilla Glass Victus+[3] on both the front and back. The device isIP67 rated, meaning it is water and dust resistant for up to 1 metre for 30 minutes in lab conditions. The Galaxy A56 5G is available in four colors:

The phone features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate with HDR10+ support. The screen has a peak brightness of 1200 nits (HBM) and 1900 nits (peak), ensuring visibility even in direct sunlight. It is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+.
The Galaxy A56 5G is powered by the 4 nmExynos 1580 chipset, which features the Xclipse 540 graphics processing unit, co-developed with AMD and based on the RDNA 3 architecture. It is paired with 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of internal storage. The device also supports 5G connectivity. However, it is the first A5x device that no longer supports expandable storage via microSD.[4]

The camera system on the Samsung Galaxy A56 has AI capabilities including enhanced subject detection in portrait mode, that can result in abokeh effect in images. The AI features also support functions like Object Eraser, letting users edit photos with more flexibility from the device.[5]
The Galaxy A56 5G is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery, like its predecessors. The device is one of the first in theA series line-up that supports 45W fast charging along withGalaxy A36 5G, allowing it to charge 65% in 30 minutes and 100% in 1 hour 8 minutes.[6]
The Galaxy A56 5G hasAndroid 15 withOne UI 7.0 pre-installed, and can be upgraded toAndroid 16 withOne UI 8.0. At theMobile World Congress 2025 inBarcelona, the new A56 alongside theA36,A26 andA16, were announced to receive 7 Android OS upgrades and 7 years of security updates (with support ending in 2032).[7]
